I'm Mike Popp, an antique tractor enthusiast from De Forest, Wisconsin.  I was born and raised on a dairy farm near Manitowoc, Wisconsin. My first connection to Massey was on our family farm with a 44 Standard that was used for the big jobs and a 101 Junior that did everything else. Later on, a Massey Ferguson 65 Diesel was added because of additional acreage.

My interest in collecting antique tractors started in 1984 while attending the Rock River Thresheree near Edgerton, Wisconsin. I was immediately hooked and a few weeks later I bought a 1937 Farmall F-20. The next year I wanted another tractor and found a McCormick W-4 at a local auction. The following year, I was over come by Massey Harris, I bought a Pony, 81, 33 and more. Currently, I have 11 Massey Harris tractors, four Farmalls, one Allis, a green one and of course my creepy crawler (101 Junior on full steel) as my wife calls it.

In 1991, along with friends, I help create the “S. E. Wisconsin Antique Power & Collectibles Society” in Racine County. I was president the first four years. In 1997 we hosted the “150 Years of Massey Harris” national show. The three-day show was a huge success with exhibitors and attendees from several states as well as Canada, Europe and South Africa.

My wife Jean and I attend most of the Massey featured events throughout the year. My interest in old Massey tractors and equipment is only part of the draw. The other reason is the many acquaintances I’ve met over the years many that have become life long friends. The shows have become one big family reunion. It is a great way to share talents and interest in our country’s agricultural history.
