RE:M-H Barn Equipment.

Well done Joe,

I bet Jojo has been keeping out your way in the kitchen????? We can almost feel the heat from the stove 3,500 miles away, well that's what I am putting this temperature rise here today down to, there is not much wind so just can't quite smell the bread with the oil from the No 3.

Hope you have a good weekend.

Malcolm.

RE:M-H Barn Equipment.

Yes - well done indeed Joe - but surely that's only enough for yourself!!!!!!

Be nice to have some nice fat bacon to squeeze between slices of that bread

Have a great weekend - mild weather here at last so looks like a seasonal return to shed activities

You will be happy to hear that the old # 3 has helped out the website!!!! The bread turned out great!! I made 6 loaves, one for sampleing and 5 to sell. Three of them went for $40.00 each one went for $45.00 and the other for $50.00 Plus the unused bag of Spelt sold for $32.00 so all in all it did pretty good. This was a duel purpose bread with the MH on them it was for Massey Harris and if you turned them upside down it was HW short for Henry Wallis.

Here is a picture of the bread right out of the oven and then another picture of the display on the table at the meeting. I put several pictures showing what the spelt fields look like and your machine you run it through after combineing it so the people could get a better feel of just how much work goes into spelt grain. Not shocking there were many people that had no idea what spelt was and have never heard of it before just like myself the first time you introduced me to it.

One thing I have learned with this whole experience is that I am not a fast cook and I am not a slow cook but I am a half-fast cook.

Well done Joe - an excellent performance.

With your 5 loaves, the tale of feeding 5000 with 5 loaves and 2 fish comes to mind!

You are certainly in the ascendancy!

Time to start a cookery thread with daily tips to better diets?

RE:M-H Barn Equipment.

Joe,

Many thanks for posting the photo's of your end product on display at the Spring Meet, I must say you have excelled in the kitchen and put a very informative display together, I never thought we would see Wallis and M-H bread, I guess many others watching on here could not belive their eyes when they saw it on the table in Iowa. I hope all the lucky purchasers who invested their money in the "global bread" were very happy, Who was the auctioneer on duty pulling the $$$ from you guys, was he a Massey Man? .

Hoping we see a few more photo's of the weekend's activities on here and good luck to the future dvelopment of the Iowa MCA.

RE:M-H Barn Equipment.

Well, I was not able to join the folks in Ames Iowa for this year’s event.  But the good news is that my absentee bid for the Massey Harris bread was accepted!  It tastes quite good Joe.  I have attached some pictures of my daughter to prove it as well.  She is a fourth generation (future) Massey Harris driver.  Thanks to everyone’s collaboration and hard work!

RE:M-H Barn Equipment.

Well done Drew,

Great to see you getting the next generation of Massey Collectors interested at an early age, I hope she keeps the Massey flag flying for many years to come, lovely photograph and pleased you both liked the bread and supported Joe's venture. Keep a close watch out in the Mid West there just might be a New Delivery Van out there from Joe's Bakery!!!!

RE:M-H Barn Equipment.

Here is what the bread looked like before it was devoured by th family!!  And of course you have to notice the rich Jersey Cream sitting off to the side.  You can put that stuff on ANYTHING!!!

It was neat to have pictures from "the field to the belly".  Thank you Malcolm for the flour and thank you Joe for the delicious loaves of bread!!

RE:M-H Barn Equipment.

Gary,

I hope you have found a good supply of "Genuine Jersey Cream" in your area? or is the container in the picture one from over this side of the pond???

As the National Show  is in the dairy state of Wisconsin this year I expect there to be plenty of STRAWBERRIES WITH THICK JERSEY CREAM available when I get there, so there is your challenge!!! Remember the true quality and standard John introduced you to, so I expect nothing any less in return.

All the Best,

Malcolm.

RE:M-H Barn Equipment.

Malcolm:

I didn't know where to put this but I think it will fit under Barn Equipmint as it was used in the shops for years fixing Hay Mowers.

When I was at your place I thought I remembered seeing a Massey Harris Grinder there but can't find any pictures of what it looked like.

Did you know just like the two different Massey Harris Vises there are also two different Massey Harris hand Grinders? Here are some pictures of the two different ones I have, one has just the <MH> and casting numbers and the other has the brass Massey Harris Grinder tag on it and is quite different as you look at them side by side.
