Record Ferguson price?
Saturday 9th June saw a big Ferguson sale which I have already made brief mention of elsewhere on the site
What must be a world record price of £8960 (about USD 13888) was paid for a Ferguson Game Flusher. I know of only three in existence but there are rumoured to be about six.
These, as you can see from the photo, were mounted on the front of the tractor with the weights dragging in the grass ahead of a rear mounted mower. The idea was to frighten any sitting birds out of the way before they could be de-legged or de-capitated - whatever.
The boom swings round for transport and is affixed to the tractor by the same front axle mounts as used on the early Ferguson loaders. Don't think they were ever sold in North America.
This particular implement was apparently new but preserved It had lain unsold for many years then was taken into preservation.
