RE:Catching Air!!!!!

The Whiz-N-Day was very poorly advertised this year but it is still going to happen! It has been so cold here for the past month and a half that I wasn't out everyday working on sleds but they are slowly coming out of the barn one at a time for a practice spin.

Don't know what to expect for a crowd but have heard from some that have never been here before and don't want to miss it. The sign is up and there is plenty of snow maybe even too much in places.... The weather we ordered for this year is spectacular!! There have been a couple changes in the Saturday evening meal location as the usual place has shut down  with frozen pipes. We will be eating in Mazeppa with a live band following the meal so bring your dancing shoes!!

Hope to see you here!!

RE:Catching Air!!!!!

Wishing you all the best for the Final Curtain Massey Whiz-in.  Alas, the planets have not aligned such that I can attend...  This seems like the winter of all winters to make it a successful event compared to those years without or with barely enough snow to ride on.   :-)

Looking forward to seeing some good photos and hearing some good stories.

Cheers,

JB

RE:Catching Air!!!!!

Good luck for your Whiz-In Day. I would love to have a go on one of those things but it is a bit too far to travel.

Have a great day

Alan

RE:Catching Air!!!!!

The Whiz-N-Day final curtain was a total success!!!!!!!!!! There were a couple people who caught air as they tipped over in the waist deep snow and then wished they could have caught some more air in their lungs as they found themselves out of breath trying to even move in the waist deep snow, right Gary?? Don't know what I was thinking by not snapping a picture of that....

Don't know the exact count but I think there were about 70 snowmobiles here on Saturday, a few less than some years but there were about twice as many people here this year than any other year.

Talking with many of the spectators here they all say the same thing, there has never been a snowmobile show before or possibly even in many years to come that even comes close to what the Whiz-N-Day show was. They really loved the fact that it was an "All Massey" show with memorabilia, food and great people to boot. That is very pleasing to hear as it means we as Massey people have done it right again!!   Just remember it was not just Steve & Sandy, Jo & I that did this it took a lot of help by everyone who helped out to make this happen and we would like to thank each and everyone of you.. Thank You!!

RE:Catching Air!!!!!

What a great week-end!!  Great job to all those involved!  I know everyone had a fun time.

Now about catching "air"!!  I will just say that some things are not meant to be recorded for posterity!  I am GLAD you did not find your camera.  However....  some did have their cameras and got some historical (hysterical) pictures.

Yes the chick-magnet was out and about!!  Age was no factor!!  And the amazing thing was he could dance (using the term loosely) without spilling one drop of his drink (soda of course).

Yes there was a Whiz-In, yes there were sleds everywhere and yes everyone had a great time!!   From nieces and daughter-in-laws to mother-in-laws and girl friends!!

Great job everyone.

GTE

Pics are a bit blurry because no one would stand still!!

PS The band was called "Rochester Revivals" and the lead singer was Joe & JoJos newphew!!  He and they were excellent, as well!

RE:Catching Air!!!!!

Thanks for the up-dates on the weekend's activities, looks like a great time was had by all and now I am curious as to" what went on behind the final curtain" before it finally closed?

Well done to all involved and hope someone else takes up the challenge to organise it again in the future.

Malcolm.

RE:Catching Air!!!!!

Sure Glad we didn't decide to have the Whiz-N-Day a week later!!! Here is some of the pictures I snapped wile plowing and blowing out here. Some of the roads are still not open yet. The one with the walking trail up the middle was from my brother Dan blowing a path up the middle so my neighbor could even get out. Another is County road #1 to Mazeppa where we all had to travel to get to WDs for supper and dancing. The one with the buried trailer house is one my workers. The one with the International 4 wheel drive is taken just after I pulled him out of the ditch with my end loader. Gary you thought it was deep before you should be here now and get stuck...
