RE:Harvest Parade.

Hi John,

I want to be the first in line to watch you milk one of those Jersey oxens!!  You might get some cream but I doubt if you would want to eat it over strawberries!!

I never thought about roasting a Jersey but that could be an interesting sight as well.

Unfortunately, in the US they have shut down all the slaughter houses for horses.  It was a good export for the industry and provided a market for old tired horses and horses with serious ailments.

The hobbists, PETA and Humane Society of US got in the way.  Not all horses are met to be pets!!!

RE:Harvest Parade.

Here are a few more photographs from the weekend with some good looking Shires harnessed up to some none Massey implements.

First is a Cook of Lincoln one horse hoe, then another very unusual Potato spinner and a few more wagons.

A pair of Mules harnessed to a four furrow chipping plough with seed box made by Pierce of Wexford Ireland.

Another pair of smaller horses with a very unusual root harvesting implement made in Scotland.

RE:Harvest Parade.

Thanks for th epics Malcolm.  That potato spinner looks like it could be a man killer.  What do the wooden sticks do that are tied together.  Looks like they spin with the forks.  Can I guess if you get your pants leg caught on one of those forks then the sticks beat you to death before you can say WOOOOO!!!

It could be fun to see on in action!

RE:Harvest Parade.

Just to keep Gary's "four legged passion" going these cold winter days here is a photograph of the latest piece of M-H advertising I picked up recently and today collected from being framed.

This dealer F. T. Ruston and Sons certainly put out some nice M-H lithographs and advertising material here in England, this one measure 24 X 18 inches.
