Farming In Indiana

At the risk of Mr Bush posting the toys he has been playing in, I want everyone to see how Indiana really plants corn.  It doesn't get any better than this.

My neighbor finished preparing the field last night and this morning starting planting.  I just had to get out there and help!!

Of course he was done before I could even think about filling a fertilizer box but it was fun getting things a little dusty!!

Gary:

You need to buy the Colt from Barry Maxwell so you can double your production!!

I am still not done plowing here as it rains here almost every day there is almost no crops planted here yet and most of the hay crop was frozen off and rotting in the field and needs to be replanted. It looks like hay may be at an all time high here and if the rain keeps up corn may also be.

True, he could double the production, but he would need another butt in the seat!  I would do it on a short term basis.  I wish I had that kind of time to plant multiple acres with a two row planter!

Nice looking outfit in the corner of the field, where is the driver and what is he doing??

Here in UK we have hedges and stone walls to hide behind when having drunk too much coffee or tea at breakfast time, is that what this driver was doing???

Anyway good to see some nice original  M-H implements in the field.

Thanks,

Malcolm.

RE:Farming In Indiana

HI Malcolm,

Unfortunately the driver was also the photgrapher and the gas man.  As soon as I got it to the field it ran out of gas!!

You don't have many opportunities to get a pic like this.  They come in, prepare the soil, plant, and the corn is growing before you know it.

The guy planting the real stuff at first wondred what I was doing but he eventually figured it out and gave me a hard time!!
