RE:745 MH wheelbase

John B,

That three point hydraulic hitch is official MH.  They were the same on the 744 and 745 - you have seen the one on my 744.  The 744s had the pump on the front of the crankshaft whilst the 745s had it on the back of the timing gears.  The set ups were actuall made by a company called Adrolic but they were official MH kit with MH operators and parts books

RE:745 MH wheelbase

John F.,

I did not recall yours having the 3-point hitch.  I do remember the pipe wrench hanging underneath...  :-)   I know when we walked down the hill we didn't expect to be starting it up and driving it around that day.

I have to figure out how to get back over there for another visit!!

Cheers,

RE:745 MH wheelbase

Bill and Drew,

Yes the 82 came to Bob Parke's collection in Norfolk England, shame the 81 did not stay with it as they made a very nice pair.
The 82 has also been in the"Tanks" thread on here at our show in front of a Second World War Hurricane fighter plane.

Billy,

The No3 is certainly well looked after here, been to several shows including a trip across to Holland for a Pre 1930 tractor show.

John B

It's a long while since you visited us and The Malvern Show, hope you can persuade Cummins that you NEED to visit the plant in Darlington UK and then you can make an East / West diversion to the Northern plant!!

Malcolm.

RE:745 MH wheelbase

No, Dad only came back from his trip talking about cream and strawberrys, cream for breakfast, cream for dessert.  Mom talked about blood pudding.  By their stories, it didn't sound like you guys saw any tractors overe there!  I will have to find out for myself sometime if there are tractors overe there!

RE:745 MH wheelbase

We never talk!!!  But I did go back to look at some pics and I think the Bob Parke visit was when the camera went wacko!!

Yes I saw the 82 and I saw it in various pics since then.

I think the 81 went to Texas.  Not sure.

RE:745 MH wheelbase

On the subject of hydralics on a 744, 745. I have a M-H Service Manual for them. It's publication # is 634 022 M1.

If anyone  wants any info from it I could scan some pages and email them to you. The Manual has thirty seven pages.

RE:745 MH wheelbase

Hi all, I thought I would revitalise the 745 posts again.  I am travelling to pick one up tomorrow.  It is a 745 S.  I note a range of differences apart from the iron channel frame, including the fuel tank shape, instrument panel, fold up bonnet sides just to name a few.  On the subject of the channel frame, I notice that some have the large steel chassis brace under the fuel tank and some don't.  Would this have been for the rough conditions down under or just on the later tractors after possible damage?  I am interested in your thoughts.  JF maybe you could shed some light as well.  Thanks Buck

Hi Buck,

Thanks for posting the photos.  I've never seen anything like that!  Looks like you have a little work ahead of you on that one.  :-)
