RE:Old Masseys

Well Steve I have a quetsion how do you post a new quesstion.  I will admit that I am probably over looking the oblivous.  I recieved a chrome piece for my 444 and it is too long it sticks down into the crank handle area.  do I have to cut it off or do I have the wrong piece?  the top crown is not movable so I will have to cut the bottom chrome piece off and how far from the crank hole should it be.  thanks for letting me use your thread. Can you guide me through posting my first original thread?  Jerry

RE:Old Masseys

Jerry, how long is the piece? Is it a new piece with the clps that slide in it?

RE:Old Masseys

Well, this a different Jerry, but if the piece came from Lloyd Robbins it will need to be cut, but not the pointed end, the flat end and holes will need to ne drilled and taped. You will need to be REAL careful on hole depth using a square ended tap to get threads all the way to the bottom of hole. Pretty tricky. Good luck.
