RE:MASSEY SEATS

Just catching up on the MCA site this morning following a week of abscence due to work getting in the way, what a lot of very interesting discussions been going on recently, all proves this site is a very useful tool for the future of Massey Collectors. Great to see more contributors sharing valuable information with others.

Now getting back to the seat thread here is a Canadian seat from Hamilton, Ontario, a  Sawyer's W30.

Malcolm.

RE:MASSEY SEATS

Here is the last of the five Australian Sunshine - HV McKay - Massey seats.  This one takes us into the period after Massey-Harris had amalgamated with HV McKay Sunshine.  As you can see Massey-Harris now gets its name on the seat.

RE:MASSEY SEATS

There are two Massey "Toronto" seats.   Both are quite heavy and desirable seats.  Here is the first the Toronto 3.

RE:MASSEY SEATS

Alan,

Sawyer cast iron seats were fitted on their steam traction engines, they also built  a lot of roadmaking machinery and I have seen cast iron seats on their road graders. Also at one of the Milton Expo's a few years ago there was a very nicely restored Sawyer sail reaper, we don't see too many of these around.

RE:MASSEY SEATS

Here is an unmarked not often seen cast iron seat, refered to as an "high back" and as far as I am aware unique to the Wallis Cub tractor.

The original seat from my tractor was replaced before it left Norh Dakota and when Cub No 1624 left the Dome Valley Museum and came to England for restoration I was able to borrow the original high back seat and have a replacement cast, so here is the replacement fitted to my tractor.
