Massey 201, 202 and 203 tractors

One of my favorite tractor series from Massey is the 200's. Big, powerful, and  unique they cover all the neat things a person would like in a tractor except the ease of hauling!
So lets see some pictures and hear some stories on other 200's.

Here is a 201 I seen for sale a couple years ago in ND, this was a pretty nice tractor!

RE:Massey 201, 202 and 203 tractors

Here is the  Yuma 203 with a bonus of MH voyeur John B!  He has his wish list in his hand, but i dont this one made the cut on his short list.  I believe it sold fairly well, $25,000 and possibly ended up in ireland.

Better luck next time John!

RE:Massey 201, 202 and 203 tractors

I also quite like the 200 series Masseys, I was offered this 203 last year but did not buy it, the price was a little to high for the condition it was in.

Yes, Drew.   That's my dilemma.   Champaign tastes on a beer budget...

That photo does bring back warm memories.  :-)

P.S.  Is anybody else having to re-sign-in every day like I am once again???

RE:Massey 201, 202 and 203 tractors

Hi Graham, That is not a bad 203. Looks like and earlier one.

I also have to log in everytime I go on the site. My new computer has a fingerprint reader so no typing to log in!

Okay now back to the tractors!
This is a friends 201. Very interesting tractor. It is and Early 1940. The frame casting date is two days after serial number one 201, so its early. The serial number is the first odd feature. #99501. Shows up on no official records that I have found, other than a small reference in the 203 operators manual. I don't have a picture but in the spec page of the 203 operator mnual it lists serial number range 98001-99500. Now I would venture to guess this would be the first of whatever it is?
I say whatever it is because there is many odd things about it. The frame has been modified, gas tank has extra original fittings and a couple seem to be for fuel returns?

so here is the pictures what do you guys think? I know what I think, but have no proof.

RE:Massey 201, 202 and 203 tractors

More pictures. Extra motor mount holes really far back, and in the lower right you can see a cutout for more engine room?
Also forgot to say, on the 201 there is a different wishbone for the front axle than the 202-203. This means if the 202-203 wishbone is on a tractor with the chrysler the oil drain on the engine lines right up with the wishbone support. I dont have a picture of this one but it has the 202-203 wishbone.

RE:Massey 201, 202 and 203 tractors

Here is another 201 deal. Funny thing is according to the year break downs I have seen one is a 1941 and the other a 1942.

Tom - curious to know what you think it is.  But I will be patient if others want to guess and add their thoughts.
