RE:Cast Iron M-H Memorabilia

Today we have what I believe is a foot pedal control of some sort from an MH binder.  Anyone out there have a positive identification please?

RE:Cast Iron M-H Memorabilia

Cast foot lever for a No.6 sheaf carrier attachment on a No. 5 binder. 1922 model per M-H No. 1H repair catalog. Part No. A517.

RE:Cast Iron M-H Memorabilia

Thanks for that info wsaak.  It would be nice to get similar info for all the pieces!

Today's offering is a J I Case Works spanner which I think is not too common and a nice addition to my collection of MH and related spanners (WRENCHES!!!).  Again I picked it up in Canada.

RE:Cast Iron M-H Memorabilia

John I am sure wsaak is correct on the pedal. On my #16 binder it is used to tip the beaters (sails) forward or backwards. By releasing the notch with the foot pedal you then push the beaters forward or backwards with the lever that you adjust the height of the beaters with. On your spanner (WRENCH) that is a new one for my list. I have #4105 and 4106 but not 4103. I wonder if there is a 4104. 4105 and 4106 can either have J I Case Plow Works or on the handle. Having gone all through my lists I wonder if I have miss read the number. Is what I thought a 3 in fact a 5? Alan

RE:Cast Iron M-H Memorabilia

Alan,

I can't say about the JI Case spanner numbers

On the binder foot pedal  there is another type which I may have shown way back on this thread.  It doesn't have that little round piece which may simply have been a rest position?

Alan / John,

I am pretty sure that is a 4105 wrench, maybe John could check on the wrench to see if the last digit is a 5.

Now there's a job which will "wrench" him away from the warm fire in the house!!!!

Yes it is 4105.  You can clearly see it if you click on the pic to bring it up large then click on it again to magnify

Here's a nice little MH cog - about 4 inches diameter.  It is marked GP83.  Anyone volunteering for identification please?

Here's today's offering - another that I found up in Canada.  It is only marked with MH and M1.

John, It looks like a piece off a slip clutch from an early combine. Anyone else have any thoughts? Joe
