RE:Cast Iron M-H Memorabilia

Alan,

You are correct!  Put it down to old age and poor eye sight!

RE:Cast Iron M-H Memorabilia

I was a bit uncertain about whether to post this item as it has no MH marking or part number - but I was assured that it was off an MH machine when I bought it.  It's just a simple little cog about 4 inches diameter - so - any offers on identification?

I was pleased to see your new grain scoop you recently posted John, a rare item here in UK .
Here is mine which I use to feed the birds during the winter, always nice to get some use from our collectibles, so trust you will be out feeding the pheasants with yours next week when I am over??

RE:Cast Iron M-H Memorabilia

Here is one of my favourite items from those which I picked up in Canada.  It's a tool box lid from a Wallis 20-30 tractor.  Hard to come across as a separte item but they are usually still on original tractors.  Quite a heavy bit of cast iron for the simple job of a tool box lid!

RE:Cast Iron M-H Memorabilia

For today here is a nice piece from a No 5 grain binder pole, fitted to the end which attaches to the binder frame and a nice turnbuckle clip to hold it in place.

Here is a rather heavy piece of M-H cast iron with particular interest to gas engine collectors.
It is a clutch pulley from one of the larger horsepower M-H Type 1 engines.

RE:Cast Iron M-H Memorabilia

My piece of cast iron for today is a counter which was given to me back in the 1980''s by a collector in Derbyshire England, which is a very hilly part of the country and most of the farmed land is grass with sheep and cattle.
He told me he thought this piece was a bushell counter from a M-H separator or (threshing machine) as we would call them here, but why did it come from an area where very little grain is grown and very little use for that type of machine?
Others have said it is an acre meter from a seed drill? again why did it turn up in that area?

Looking forward to all your replies of what machine it came from.

Malcolm.

Here are another pair of gears which have been in my collection for many years.

You never know one day we may need some of these cast iron pices for our restoration projects.

RE:Cast Iron M-H Memorabilia

One of my most treasured pices of cast iron memorabilia has just arrived back in the UK after me finding it abandoned up in Ontario this summer.  It's the heavy (very) cast iron grill off one of the 200 series MH tractors - either from a 201, 202 or 203.  I wonder if it was the same grill for each model or were there some slight differences.  Maybe someone can clarify?  It is in absoultely perfect, undamaged, original condition.
