RE:Cast Iron M-H Memorabilia

This cast iron memorabilia thread seems to be very quiet over the Christmas period, so to kick it into gear for 2014 here is another attractive cast iron tractor front grille which sits in my shed.

RE:Cast Iron M-H Memorabilia

This peddle is from a neighbours binder, then two years ago I heard it was going to be scraped so I now have the rest of the binder. But it will need a bit of work and some missing parts replaced to get it working.

I am pleased to see you are getting into M-H grain binders Graham, with that hitch on the back of your tractor you will you be out in the field for next years harvest with your binder?? then I want to see a multiple binder set up behind one of your Wallis or M-H tractors on the prairie, would be worth a trip over to see.

Here is another piece of M-H cast iron, a bolster from a bobsleigh, should be a few of these in Western Canada Graham.

RE:Cast Iron M-H Memorabilia

Joe / Gary,

Regarding our earlier discussion in this thread about the Bain and M-H wagon reach plates, during the New Year holiday festivities whilst finding a place and putting my seeder unit away from George Smyth's sale I had to give the back a rest and sat down on the steel wheel M-H running gear, digesting everything around I suddenly noticed the markings in the upper part of the reach plate, part number on the left and <M-H> on the right.

It just shows we have all this stuff around us and often we miss the fine detail, maybe due to the fact we do not always have the time to digest, so check both sides of your M-H wooden wheel wagon reach plates Gary.

RE:Cast Iron M-H Memorabilia

Although not cast iron another interesting piece of Massey Harris memorabilia is the rev counter, a useful little service tool to check the speed of your rotating shafts and pulley's.

RE:Cast Iron M-H Memorabilia

I recently found another piece of cast iron from our Ontario trip last year, so now cleaned and oiled with a glimpse of original paint showing through.

Another piece of cast iron today is the top casting from a M-H pumpjack connecting the vertical wooden connecting rods to the centre pump plunger arm.
