Here's a bit of cast iron memorabilia that was in a lot of MH spare parts I bought at auction last year.   They are the cam shaft followers and their holders for possibly an MH 12-20 tractor but others more knowledgeable may be able to advise as I have never had one of these set ups out of an engine.

I hope to get them cleaned up for show as they are only in lightly rusted condition.

Thanks for that - I rather think they are out of a 12-20 because the pack of spares that I bought at the sale were mostly for a 12-20.  I am not inclined to dismnatle a 12-20 to prove the point!!!!!

Not quite cast iron but a very pleasing piece of tin I've just had in from Canada.  It's an M-H parts book holder which would have stood proudly on some dealer's parts counter

That is a very nice original piece, John!!  I have an older version of the same thing but not near as nice!!

This is not MH cast iron, but if it were not for MH I would not have it!!  Some of you might have seen some of the items my son wheeled and dealed with at Paisley last summer.  One of those items was a 21' dinner bell.  I have never found a dinner bell in the States that was complete, what I wanted and reasonably proced!!  A vendor in the flea market area at Paisley had just what I was was looking for.  So with the purchase of an anvil and some MH wrenches we also bought a terribly painted red and green dinner bell, with yoke, clapper and not cracked!!

I finally got it cleaned repainted and now placed on a pole close to the back door.  I am assured not to miss another meal (like I ever have!!)

Well done Gary, I can see you are getting prepared for the huge influx of visitors in the next two months.


There will be huge benefits John when the "bell rings in Rushville", we shall know the strawberries and cream are ready and on the table, so we must keep listening and not get too distracted there, otherwise we may miss the feast!!!

One thing we will be doing is tying up the rope so the grandkids can not ring it creating a false alarm in the barn!!  We eat too much so we don't need 6 -10 additional meals because the bell rang!!

It is a big bell but I doubt if you will hear it in Rushville!!  Of course there could always be a different one there to announce strawberries!!
