RE:Massey signs

I had another bit of summer luck yesterday.  Picked up this 21inch square MH sign from a guy in mid Wales.  We have two already but no harm in another!!  There are a good handful of these signs surviving in the UK.

I have now re-attached the middle line of the sign back to the main piece

RE:Massey signs

Ran across this today ,  This is just about enough to make a grown man cry...... Although it is kind of pretty the more you look at it...  It is for sale for a small fee of $1,400.00

Was made of two complete Porcelain signs years ago.

RE:Massey signs

Ouch!

I suppose it seemed like a good idea to somebody at one time...

RE:Massey signs

Glancing at the first photo I thought it was the M-H version of the "Rubik Cube",

I suppose it was a case of "use what was available at the time" to make a storage cabinet, which  turned out very useful and colourful. As time moves on expect all us Massey Collectors are going to react in the same way "such a shame to destroy TWO signs".

Expect if the price was more realistic it would of made a good storage unit for your shed Joe??, you could even mount a M-H bench vice on top of it.

RE:Massey signs

Joe,

Don't hold back!  Signs of all types are on fire as far as prices go.  Dig deep and get the New Year off to a good start - you won't regret it - it;s like buying land - thay have stopped making it.

RE:Massey signs

Been a while since this thread has had a boost! I guess this qualifies as a sign, I picked this up last weekend and am quite fond of it..

RE:Massey signs

This sign thread seems to be falling behind a little, so thought it was time to give it a boost, I have been checking out the recent winter mid west Mecum auction results.

Some very rare signs which sold very well.

Here are three wooden signs I have never come across before, very interesting and early advertising.
