Massey Days 2013 - Armstrong's

I will make my way over there on Friday and promise to take some pictures!

We are anxiously waiting Drew, hope you have plenty of power in your camera battery??

Malcolm.

Well Malcolm, it just so happens that there is a Massey over here that you really "NEED".

Custom hot rod builder called it a Massey 88 Special.  It has a 350 small block engine and twin turbos!  Over 500 horsepower.  Automatic transmission, but you can't really shift out of second because you would be going over 60mph and the thing can't weigh much.  Cast Iron seat and air bag suspension.

I will get some more pictures up later.

RE:Massey Days 2013 - Armstrong's

Hey! If you love Massey and you're not in El Paso this weekend, you're truely missing out.

Great weather, Great displays, Great food, Great friends and Wonderful hosts. Wes and Deb are doing a tremendious job of making this a memorable Massey Days Reunion. There is a hillside full of tractors and equipment to explore, lots of indoor displays and vendors, and a large tent just to gather in. I'll attach a couple of photos to give everyone a taste of the event.

If you can get here tomorrow.....Do it!

Bob

Drew,

Well I know I said about plenty of charge in your camera battery, but I was hoping for better results!!!!
If I had of been in the beer tent at our show as Alan suggested  in another thread then I could understand why I was looking at such a "thing", but I have no excuse.

I am now relying on Bob to come through with his photographs of the event, his tastes will no doubt be much better than yours Drew!!!  Trust dad will whisper in your ear and hopefully put you on "The Massey Collectors Road" of understanding "originality"

We just could not quite get there in time Bob after our Starwberry and Cream Reunion, so we just anxiously await the photographs of the weekends activities.

Malcolm.

RE:Massey Days 2013 - Armstrong's

Malcolm,

You have to admit that 88 Special was very "orginial".  I can not image what it would be like driving that thing.  It was just you and the steering wheel.  No back support, no seat belts; just you and the Champion cast iron seat.  The owner said it was the scariest drive he has made and he makes these hot rods!! Definitely a crowd around it all weekend.

I know Drew did get some other pics when he gets time to upload them.

Here is my tiny load I hauled in.  In fact I left it there and plan to pick it up when we head to Harry Bowens in July.  They are all french Ponies,  the first is an 821 with Hanamag diesel, second is an 821 with Peugeot gas, the third is an 812 with Simca gas and the fourth is an 820 Vineyard with Hanomag diesel.

Lots of interesting questions about these strange invasions from across the pond.

The second pic is looking over the creek and up the hill to a field of red and green.  It was very impressive!!   Wes, Debbie and their family did a great job serving as our hosts for the weekend.
