Day 1 of my annual "start. run, and move" week.  Everything made it back into their cleaned-up spots in the barn before bed time.

RE:Photo ops..

Joe - The Styled 25 is parked in the barn awaiting it's turn to be worked on...

Dennis - The Red Challenger is also in the barn, with one very flat rear tire that won't hold air long enough to move it around.  I have a nice set of round spoke wheels and tires that need to go on it, again, when it's turn comes...  Yes, that is a familiar 44 Sp Diesel.  And, yes, with a new battery, it starts quickly and runs well.

Too dang hot for September!  Set new record highs.  It was 96 F outside the last two days, and a bit warmer than that in the barn...  I was moving pretty slow today...

RE:Photo ops..

Talk about photo Ops... Today I had two visitors from Quzhou, China come to see my collection they were so amazed it was almost funny to watch them!

Wang Pei Hui  (wong pay Hway)  has never driven a car in his life much less a tractor so I talked him into driving a Massey Harris and he had a blast!! It was funny to watch him! He had no clue what he was doing but caught on very quickly. I told him I would ride with and give him pointers but when we got out in the open grass area I stepped off the back and let him go it was a hoot to listen to him as he was so thrilled to be driving for the first time in his life.

Fang Ziaofen (Fong Shao-fen) an auto mechanic teacher in our sister city of Quzhou, China was also here with him and got the chance to drive a tractor for the first time in his life, he had a blast!!

RE:Photo ops..

Joe, A pretty neat opportunity for the boys. I had to chuckle about Who Flung Poo & One Hung Low having never driven even a car at their age. Why were they in MN?

RE:Photo ops..

Back in 1942 the city of Quzhou, China played a big part in the survival of the American Pilots after the famous "Jimmy Doolittle Raid" bombing of Tokyo, Japan. The American pilots were to land in the Quzhou airport but as you know several crashed in the water as they ran out of fuel due to the 800 mile flight they had to make instead of the 450 mile flight they were planning for. The people of Quzhou hand dug a cave to hide the American pilots and paid a huge price for it as they were bombed many times by Japan and killed many people of Quzhou but they never gave up the Americans.

The Sister Cities Commission promotes cultural exchange between cities of different nations to foster strengthened economics, world peace and a greater understanding of the world issues. The City of Red Wing has two official sister cities – Ikata, Japan and Quzhou, China. The commission also has an informal relationship with Drammen, Norway. The Sister Cities Commission can have up to 15 members appointed by the Mayor.

When we were in China last year the President of Minnesota State College-Southeast Technical signed an agreement with them to start a student/teacher exchange program with them and Wang Pei Hui and Fang Ziaofen are the frst two to come here to the US.

When we were over in China we got a chance to go see the cave they hid the American pilots in. Here are a couple pictures of the cave and two of the American pilots names still carved in the wall. Talk about a Photo OP!!
