Challenger oil filter

I had a couple people ask about a repacement for the stacked felt rings inside a Challenger oil filter when I had my Challenger at Baraboo and of course I could not remember the filter number, so when I got home I looked inside a cup board door in my shop where I keep such important info.  Anyway, it is NAPA1842.  I hope this helps someone.

Thanks for the info. The Challenger I ran as a kid had the felts in it and we would change the oil and then my Grandpa would engage in some ritual where you took the top off of the filter, move a plug from here to there and backflushed dirty oil all over the side of the tractor. Even as a kid, those felts just didn't seem like a very good way to filter oil!

I admired your Challenger at the Baraboo show and saw it heading for the parade, sure looks and sounds great!

Thanks,
Joe

For what it's worth - in my experience the original filters are eternally renewable.  Just give them a thorough soaking in gas for a day and then gently squeeze them and swirl them around and they come back like new.  I've never replaced any yet.
