Baraboo Show

There are many people to thank for a huge and successful show at Baraboo this past weekend. Thank you exhibitors for hauling tractors and equipment even when gas prices are on the rise, to the generous donors and bidders at the silent and live auction, to the indoor exhibits and vendors that filled the feature building with colorful displays. A special thank you to Wisconsin chapter members who worked extremely hard up to and during the show to make sure everything ran smoothly. And we wish to thank the Badger Steam and Gas Club for being a great and helpful host.

The official count was at 377 Massey tractors and equipment taken on Saturday by Gary E.

The beautiful weather was enjoyed by all throughout the weekend. The record attendance for all three days filled the parking lot to the brim and them some. Approx. 200 people attended the Friday night picnic hosted by the Wisconsin chapter. Good food and door prizes were enjoyed. On Saturday evening, the Farm Kitchen Restaurant was the hot spot for the annual MCA banquet and benefit auction. Plenty of good food was served, followed by Pete Schrake from the Circus World Museum to tell us about the Baraboo circus history and ending with the benefit auction.

You are probably wondering why president Roger Otermat and John Bush with the site selection results didn't say anything at the banquet. It's not that they are shy. It's because I simply forgot to call on them. Sorry Roger and John!

Thank you,
Mike Popp
