They were supposed to be blue as near as I can tell.........

RE:Massey Harris Hit Miss engine built by Worthington

Hello G,

I know of one of these engines here in UK and yes it is blue, have seen several on my travels in North America over the years and so far they have all been blue, carried the M-H name with the Batavia, NY address on the brass tag. Does yours have this?

RE:Massey Harris Hit Miss engine built by Worthington

Just Curious and wondering if a MCA member or website viewer bought this very original M-H (Worthington built) engine last Saturday at the Zettlemoyer's Auction in Fagelsville, PA? It had some original paint and stated to be in running order, nice engine that doesn't come up for sale very often.

Hi Malcom:
I wish you would have posted about this engine BEFORE the auction then I may have bid on it! I have not heard where it went to!!!!

I found it  just a day too late G, Sunday when browsing auctions it popped up and I believe someone got a very good buy looking at the auction results.

More confirmation of the original blue paint on these engines.

How much did it sell for?

G

As no one seems to be juming on here saying they bought it, I will now post the price for you, just did not want to be shouting out some Massey Collectors private business.
$1,300 was the price and I understand it was an internet auction as well as onsite.

Thanks Malcom.
They are really nice running engines!

Here is a photograph of the Batavia built Massey Harvesters Engine residing in Eastern England discussed at the top of this thread.

It was the only Massey-Harris gas engine at the recent Wallis / Massey-Harris feature at the end of season Newark event early November.
