2012 Massey Days - Wellington KS - Who is going??

The 2012 version of Massey Days is just around the corner.  It is at Board member Floyd Moores and he has a quarter section of wheat for all of us to play on!!  Floyd lives just south of Wichita, KS in Wellington.

At this point we know Joe P. is going because he is bringing his homemade version of the heavy Jersey cream!!

I plan to haul my 35 SP Combine out since it has not been in wheat for a LONG time!!  If anyone wants to drive it just come up and ask.  My butt won't be in the seat all day!!

This will be a blast.  We can get dirty, play on the equipment and still visit with all our Massey friends!!

Even if you don't bring anything, come and enjoy the weekend.

See the events page for all the details and hotel information!!

See you there,

Gary

Gary

I have come across references that in the US to make heavy cream sometimes they very gently melt some butter in with ordinary cream.  Is this what Joe is up to?. Whilst trawling references on cream I note that there are many Americans and Canadians who visit UK and they comment on the glory of our double Jersey creams and clotted creams and lament the fact they are not available in N America.  This is weird and needs a revolution!!

But I think that Joe has the answer in his sheds - get out one of those MH cream separators and start double whizzing down some single cream.  An electric one would I am sure be preferable to save the strain on the arms, or one powered with an MH stationary engine.  As always MASSEYS for quality food production.

Gary,

Sandy & I are coming to Floyd's for Massey Days but we are not going to bring our Trailer & Parts.  We will bring along any Parts that our customers would like to pick up there though.  If anybody would like us to bring anything for them please email me direct.

Thanks,  Terry          tlkessel@embarqmail.com

Guess I should go. :-)  It's only a little over 100 miles down the turnpike from where I live.

If I could only come one day, which of the three days would be the best?

Hi Ike!!

You are close enough you can make the trip each day!!  Of course, every day is the best day to be in attendance but if you have to make a decision I would think friday would be the best.  Folks coming to the event will be there and those leaving early will not have left yet!!

Very day will be special so plan on attending all three!!

We hope to get in there sometime Wednesday evening.  Looks to be about 700 miles and about 11 hours.  We will see how we do pulling the combine!!

Hope to see you there!!

We are anxiously awaiting the photographs and full performance report of your Massey Harvesting experience Gary.

Hope the weather is favourable for your event, we got rained out at our Carrington show last weekend, still raining here this morning.

Malcolm.
