1957 Massey Harris 50 Utility with crank hole in front

I don;t think I have ever seen this on other Massey Harris 50s.  It is a hole in the front grille (bottom cowling) for a crank!!  Has anyone seen any of these before.  It sure looks factory made and there is a receiver at the pulley as well.  Beats me - I thought they put keys and buttons on these things to eliminate cranking!!!

Gary:

I think they made that tractor special just for you so when the push button fails you can still make the hay with no excuses.  Now all we have to do is find you a set of lugs and sell off that expensive rubber.

Speaking of holes and cranks I see your buddy is still at it with the President.

Gary,

It's just a joker - it's the wrong way round!  In any event you shouldn't have bought it as crankers are for young men as Joe will confirm!

Must have the bolt holes in the pulley for crank receiver or for a splined coupler to run a front mounted hyd. pump for a loader, But, I would bet yours is a Snake hole!!
