Well - today is the last day of February so as far as we are concerned over here, then calendar wise it's the last day of winter. Coincidentally I have also come to the end of my bookshelf so this will be the last entry on the "Winter Reading" thread. Hope it’s been of some use to identify all the books around about our favorite subject. I am sure that there are some others that I don't know of so if you know of any then why not put them on here. If there are others then I certainly need them on my bookshelf!! The amount there is to learn about Massey History is vast. There is still plenty out there to document the problem being to create financially viable books because it is a very niche market.
So - my last offering is on Wallis. There have not been any books written about Wallis tractors so far, and indeed it would be difficult to do a financially viable book on them due to the shortage of historic information. However in 2006 myself and Malcolm Robinson decided that we ought to try and do something about it. We therefore prepared a four part series article on the Wallis tractors for the "Ferguson Heritage" magazine. This is the club magazine of "The Friends of Ferguson Heritage" which is our biggest tractor club and encompasses Massey-Harris and Massey Ferguson.
The four parts are contained in Ferguson Heritage Issues 38, 39, 40 and 41 spreading through 1996 and 1997. Copies are still available. The four parts totaled 28 pages of highly illustrated material. The first page of the first part is shown here.
Good reading, enjoy searching for out of print and rare volumes, good luck and have a good MASSEY summer.
