RE:Massey Harris Implements.

John,
Can you post a pic or two of the hitch adjustment lever on the green one?  We don't see those often here.  Perfect for use on a GP!

I've also not seen the screw adjustment for the land wheel.  When did it change to a lever and was that for UK only, Canada, or US markets.

There are other differences too from the two I have.  Will post some comparison pictures later.

I can remember a plough like that on a farm where I used to go as a boy.

I have a No 26 plough but that has two lever, rather that a screw and a lever, and a fixed rear wheel but it came from Canada. Obviously there are differences.

RE:Massey Harris Implements.

Jerry,

Here are 3 more shots which I hope clarify for you.   I have little knowledge of MH ploughs I'm afraid but we did have 2 and 3 furrow versions of these on the farms at home when I was a small one.  I have never ploughed with a trailer plough but vividly recall riding on the back of my Uncle's/Grandad's Challenger, 12-20 or green 25 when they were ploughing.  Then Dad bought a new Ferguson in 1948 and about the same time my Grandad bought a Fordson Major - three point ploughs were in and trailer ploughs became extinct almost overnight on our farms - about 1950 I would say.

I intend to make one decent one out of the two - not much work actually as the green and yellow one is about 90% OK.  Then I might sacrifice a 5-6 yard strip of pasture and have a demo plot for son and grandson - maybe even buy a Ferguson plough as well and demonstrate to them the great technological advance that came with three point.

Let me know if you want anymore shots

RE:Massey Harris Implements.

I have just been reading some of the earlier posts on this thread about the Pulverator Plows. I was wondering who made it? Did M-H make it or was it made by another company and badged as M-H.

In my research into wrenches I have never come across a wrench that was supplied with a Pulverator. I see Malcolm and Tom have parts books on Pulverators. Are there any wrenches mentioned in them please. Or anyone one else who might have any information on wrenches supplied with Pulverators.

Thanks

Alan

RE:Massey Harris Implements.

Sorry. If I had read Joe's post a bit farther down the thread I would have got my answer as to who made the Pulverator Plow.

Any info on wrenches would be good though.

RE:Massey Harris Implements.

Since getting back home from Canada and the US early August I have been busy and rather slow on here, so got some catching up to do over the next few weeks.

Here is my latest implement project finished, a "M-H 250 Double Gang Soil Pulverizer, which was bought at the George Smyth auction last year in Canada, I started working on it last Christmas time and been pushing to get it finished in time for it's first outing behind the green Pacemaker at next weekends "Little Casterton" working weekend in South Lincolnshire, where it will be working alongside Jack Turner's family owned from almost new unstyled M-H 25-40 and two furrow chain lift M-H plough.
