RE:Wallis Tractors

Well we had some fun today with the Wallis K. Yesterday I finished up the work on our 2 bottom Oliver plow and we thought it should be tested today. This land we plowed has been pasture land and never worked since my grandpa can remember and he has been here since 1935, our family originally bought the land in the 1870's from the railroad. Since this was always pasture it was very tough plowing and rough ground so the plowing looks pretty poor but we had fun. A few more acres and the plow should be scoured up good.

The first picture is over looking the pasture land from the road.

RE:Wallis Tractors

Looks like good fun!

RE:Wallis Tractors

Lovely pictures. Be good now to see the Wallis out there with a set of M-H discs working the land down and then with a M-H drill sowing wheat. Alan

RE:Wallis Tractors

This weekend we did a little more plowing. A different Walis but the same plow. Hopefully soon I will have a 2 bottom Massey plow to use. I am growing less fond of this Oliver everytime I use it.

RE:Wallis Tractors

Good to see you out in the fields with two of your Wallis tractors Tom, hope you are preparing to compete in a local ploughing match?
I am sure Alan would enjoy a trip over to see you ploughing some of that nice black MN soil of yours, especially if you get the M-H plough ready as I know he has a great affection for Massey ploughs.

Malcolm.

RE:Wallis Tractors

Lovely pictures. I do like to see pictures of a tractor and trailed plough.
Looks really good fertile soil but I think the stuff we have over here would be a lot easier to plough.

Alan

RE:Wallis Tractors

Wallis thread has been a bit slow lately so I thought I would give it a bump. Here is my latest purchase, I am now in need of some "Sunshine" so I can try out my latest rare piece of Wallis history. This is only the second one of these I have ever seen it came with a mounting bracket that I am guessing is the original one for this?? In the picture I have it on one of my Wallis Ks but I think it was made for a 20-30. Did anybody get some close up shots of the one that was in Nebraska several years ago? if so I would like to see how they had it mounted to the tractor. Here is a couple pictures of how I think it is to be mounted but I could be wrong. Joe

RE:Wallis Tractors

I see you finally listened to JoJo and just bought it! I think it was mounted just under the seat. That's how I remember the one from NE.

RE:Wallis Tractors

What is the nunber on that one Buck  I see it has F&H wheels and the early type steering box. The earliest  Wallis 20-30 I have one my list with F&H wheels is 56633, also does it have a Canadian serial number  tag.
