RE:Wallis Tractors

Well done Joe, thats a very nice and desirable umbrella, with the mounting bracket too, have not found my disc of photographs from Nebraska yet to see how that one fitted.

Is it to keep the "sun" rain or "snow" off the driver?, suppose it depends what time of the year you are out in the field, just thought if you are testing it now it could well be for snow! especially if you are transporting Santa around Bellchester over the next few days.

I also note a different layout of all your tractors in the shed, looks like you have been busy moving everything around, guess to make more space to fit the latest additions in before winter?

Happy Christmas

Malcolm.

RE:Wallis Tractors

Hi Buck,
Thanks for the numbers, yours is now the lowest number I have for one on F&H wheels and just 27 numbers earlier than ours. Could you take a picture of the rear wheel hubs as there seems to be three different hubs on the F&H 20-30 rear wheels.
Here is a picture of a Canadian tag it looked about the same as yours before I cleaned it, the Wallis tags usualy clean up really well but the Challenger and Pacemaker tags are not as good.

RE:Wallis Tractors

Hi Graham, I just checked the other Wallis I have here, it has the same wheel, but S/No 56549. However, I have another Wallis at dads place with the more ornate style of wheel, I will get the pics and number over the next few days for you

RE:Wallis Tractors

Buck,

This is great, on my list of Wallis numbers I had gap between 56211 (this one has older Wallis rear wheels) and 56633 (with the F&H  wheels).
Your hub looks like ours apart from the punch marks, I have a newer 20-30 (58571) that is little different.
Then from around 59??? The hubs are bigger and heavier looking.

RE:Wallis Tractors

HI Graham, It was interesting to hear the others talk about snow and having to work in the sheds. Down under, I cant get into the shed. Its just too hot about 85degF(31degC). A bit lucky , we can nearly paint all year round. I spent Christmas at dads place and got a few Wallis wheel pics for you and a new serial number. Merry Christmas from down under.

RE:Wallis Tractors

Buck, I too get to work outside all year round here but it is not because it is too hot or too cold, it's just that my shed is so crammed full I can't get in it.... To keep this talking about Wallis tractors here is one I picked up about a month ago. Looks like you better get to work on the one at your dads as the trees seem to be growing up in front of it and soon you will have to cut it out of the trees just to work on it..Joe

RE:Wallis Tractors

HI Joe, I think we all have the same shed issue. I was hoping that Santa would over fill his sleigh and bring another shed...No such luck. That poor old Wallis has had a lot of damage, but will be a gracious donor to achieve the relief of my other 2. Lucky my neighbour is getting a new shed and he doesn't want his old one, so I will get another one later this year. Couple of pics of my shed are attached. Merry Christmas from down under. Buck

RE:Wallis Tractors

Hi Buck,

Here we get about five months of winter and it can be below freezing for most of that time, so we need to insulate sheds if we want to do any work on machinery in the winter. (Monday morning it was -35c)
The insulation works well in the summer too as it insulates from the heat as well as the cold.
I also need more shed space, but it is not easy building sheds in the winter and there is so much that needs to done in the summer.

RE:Wallis Tractors

Buck, Thanks for the wheel pictures and serial numbers.
There seems to be four different front wheels on the 20-30s.
The first are the Wallis wheels these were on the Plow Works 20-30s and the early Massey built 20-30s.
Then the small hub F&H wheels appeared somewhere between 56211 and 56549.
