RE:Cast Iron M-H Memorabilia

I couldn't load the photo on for the last post so here I am trying again.  Something wrong on the site today - it keeps cutting out when you load a photo.  There is also still the persistent problem of lack of reply buttons.

John

-----------And it's still doing it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Sorry folks

RE:Cast Iron M-H Memorabilia

Testing to see if I can post a picture on here... There is a large shortage of Reply buttons here on my end too. If it works here is a picture of what it looks like when Your Wallis Bear decides to take off on you and no longer be your wheel guide and ornimant.

RE:Cast Iron M-H Memorabilia

There are some lovely bits of memorabillia that you guys have.
I found a piece on the shelf today which I though i would put on this site. I have no idea what it is so any suggestions would be welcome.
As you see it has M-H cast into it and # E 242.

I found this piece of cast iron on the shelf so I thought I would put it on here to see if anyone knows what it is. I don't.
As you can see it has M-H cast into it and part # E 242.

I'm like you John. Can't load pictures or find reply buttons very easily.

RE:Cast Iron M-H Memorabilia

As the web site has come back on line I will try and post the photo relating to my last post.  If it doesn't appear then back to you two Joe and Gary!

No photo here. Atleast we can post again. My biggest problem is, I have to log in every time now, even though I don't log off

RE:Cast Iron M-H Memorabilia

Well here we are up and running again.  What more could a man ask for than reply buttons and photo facilities again??!!

Back to the cast iron, here are three bits from the knotter mechanism of an M-H binder that I picked up at our recent Newby Hall show.  You have to keep your eyes open wherever you go!  Nothing from modern machines can compare with the ornate designs found in parts of the old ones.

RE:Cast Iron M-H Memorabilia

A bit difficult to tell Alan because of angles but it could possibly be a shin for a plough if we are looking at the reverse side.  I have some in the shed so I'll see if I can identify it
