RE:Massey signs

Here are some very good quality reproduction M-H signs I found on a stall at the Mount Pleasant Iowa show in 2012.

RE:Massey signs

We seem to have a shortage of reply buttons again???

For the Sawyer Massey enthusiasts amongst us here is another reproduction tin sign showing their threshing machines or separators depending which side of the pond you are sitting.
I have always wondered why they chose to replicate this sign, I am sure a S-M gas tractor or steam engine sign would of sold in higher numbers.

RE:Massey signs

Where have all the buttons gone again?????

Here's a smaller and quite attractive MF sign measuring about 50 cm wide.

Can anyone date all these signs we are seeing on here?

RE:Massey signs

My sign for today is a Massey related sign from Blackstone and Company of Stamford Lincolnshire England, it is a tin sign advertising their famous horse drawn hay making machinery, these machines were sold with M-H on them during their joint venture a very pictorial sign with a little damage here and there, a sign which is not seen very often.

Back in the 1970's I remember scrapping one of their hay turners, in very good working order with metal horse drawn shafts as well, just to get the cast iron seat for my collection, oh how times have changed and how much wiser we are now!!!!!

RE:Massey signs

Another recent reproduction sign is the M-H 25 tractor, shown under the M-H-F title and of course two totally different eras, I suppose who ever created this sign had no idea of that.

RE:Massey signs

Here's a super small sign that would have hung in MH, Ferguson and MHF dealer's showrooms at the time of the amalgamation of MH and Ferguson when the company was, for 5 years, known as Massey-Harris-Ferguson

RE:Massey signs

John,

I really like that sign! don't see much from that era as far as signs go but when you do they seem to bring good money.

This is not a Massey sign but it is a Massey dealership telling about the new sign out front of the building and where it is made, kind of interesting as you usually don't know where they came from.

Anyone in Augusta, IL know if this Massey Dealership still exists? Or if the building is still there? Or has a relative that owned it?

RE:Massey signs

We are still mising the vital buttons!!

Today's sign is a smallish MF FERMEC one made of tough plastic/perspex type material.  FERMEC was created from a management buyout of MF industrials in the UK and I believe that they traded under the name in N America.  MF started the Aftercare service and advertised it widely, with FERMEC carrying it on.
