MCA Plow Day was great. Weather was beautiful!! Who would think we would be out plowing in t-shirts and shorts the end of October!!
With everyone plowing I did not see too many pictures being taken. Hopefully Rick Keating will post some for everyone to enjoy!! He was there on Friday and Saturday taking pics so hopefully he will share with us.
I think there were about 20-25 tractors there for the weekend and at least that many plows.
The states of Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Kansas and Kentucky were represented so it was a very good turn out and a good selection of tractors and plows.
The newest tractor was a MF 65 LP with mounted 3 bottom plow. He was doing a very nice job. A MH 101 might have been the oldest tractor.
There was a MH 30 RC with an International 2 bottom trail plow that worked extremely well. In fact, I drove it most of the morning then put my 333 on the plow in the afternoon!! (thanks Dave for sharing!!)
It was fun to watch the different tractors and plows being hooked up to just play. They were switching implements around all thru the day.
We had a great noon meal prepared by Pat Sager and a delicious meal that evening at restaurant in Magnolia. It was fun to watch people that evening. Since everyone was plowing all day, no one had time to just sit and visit so we occupied the restaurant for about an hour and half after everyone was done eating just sitting and visiting with our friends.
It was a great weekend, great soils to "play" in and lots of tinkering going on to make the plows and the tractors work a little better (I think!).
If you were not there, you missed a fun weekend. Hopefully, you will put it on your calendar for next year because it looks like it will be a repeat performance. I know the land owner was very happy and enjoyed seeing the old tractors working his field.
Hopefully, we will get some pics up but I know I did not take any so we need Rick and others to posts some for us!!
