Wild Harvest

One of the things I did work on over the holidays was sorting out my Wild Harvest Magazines.  There are some great pieces in those mags that Keith Oltrogge has helped preserve for future generations.

It is always interesting to go back and reread some of the articles.

When I picked up the 101 Super this fall the owner gave me about 8 issues of the Wild Harvest and I started looking through them that night.  Two pieces jumped out at me!!  One was MY Ferguson Pony on the back cover of the magazine.  This was in 2004 long before I owned the tractor.  But there was also a letter from the owner explaining the tractors origins and where he had found it!!!

After I looked in my inventory to check that I had a copy of it, I forwarded it on to the new owner of the tractor in Great Britian!!

The second item I found was a picture of the "berry bog" MF that was shown at MENA in Rushville this past summer.  It, too, was on the back cover.  I had never noticed it before but I have the same original picture of that tractor that appears in magazine.  No one seems to know much about this tractor.

Since the owner lives in Indiana I again checked my inventory and forwarded a copy of the magazine to him.  He was extremely delighted to receive the magazine and appreciated that I sent a copy to him.

So if you have not looked at your old Wild Harvest magazines in a while, you will enjoy going back and seeing what you missed the first time.  The world is much smaller now but the history of that magzine helps bring new life into the current conversations.

Thanks Keith for all you did publishing this great piece of literature.  They are the gem of my collection!!

I plan to review them all to see what issues I might be missing.  If folks have some extras, I might be looking for them.

In the meantime, I also have some extras and plan to put them in the MCA Auction at the MCA Spring Meeting in Rock Island.  If you don't have some of these you might want to buy them at that time.
