Diesel Pony Vineyard tractor

Most of you in N America will not be familiar with this French made MH tractor.  It is an M-H diesel Pony vineyard tractor.  I believe that one or two of the standard 820 diesels have got across the Atlantic to collectors in recent years but maybe not this diesel vineyard example?

It has a 2 cylinder Hanomag (German) diesel engine, but was also fitted with a petrol engine..  It has four forward gears and a reverse, a rear mounted pulley and a hydraulic lift.  Specially designed for narrow orchard and vineyard crops.  I think I am right in saying that N American Ponys were not made as vineyards?  I have an earlier 812 vineyard with petrol engine.  The tractor can be adjusted down to a minimum width of 98.5cm.

Time to look out for one!!

RE:Diesel Pony Vineyard tractor

Hi John,

(Yes I am alive and well) Thought I might show you a sample of that elusive 820 Diesel Vineyard. It is not the prettiest tractor I have but it is the best mossquito repellent I own.  That diesel as a tendency to smoke a little.  Fun tractor to drive but you must take ballet lessons before you can get off and on it.  Not much room for a pair of size 12 shoes to turn around and still get my big behind situated onto the seat.  In fact, it is nearly impossible!

Gary,

You need to load that up and head to Atwater, MN next weekend for the 70th Anniversary of the Introduction of the Massey Pony Feature... It would feel right to home in the stable with the rest of the Pony's.

If you do make it here I think we should try this to see if the Diesels have more power than the Gassers.

Gary,

Good to know that there is at least one of this tractor in N America.  Is there another in A*****er - I can't recall.

Anyway as Joe says I think you should get it to the A*****er Pony event - take a break after the IN show stress!!
