Pony oil pump

Hey all,

Im rebuilding a pony motor (N62) and need the oil pump housing gasket.  I see full oil pump rebuild kits online that have it, but I don't want to pay that price when I only need the gasket.  Part number 1500084M1.  The engine gasket set I bought had the gasket that sits between the block and the oil pump, but not the housing gasket.

Also my pony doesn't have a oil filter canister, when I goto start this for the fist time do I need to somehow prime the pump?  I've only worked with oil pumps that sit directly in the pan.

Thanks in advance for the help.

RE:Pony oil pump

Hi Chris,

Welcome to the MCA web site.

I would think that Terry Kessel has the gasket and he is planning to be at Massey Days in Kansas.  If he has it I am sure he would bring one along.  Hopefully, someone more knowledgeable than me can help you with the rest of your questions.

Again welcome and feel free to enter into the discussions!!

Gary

Gary,

Thanks for the kind welcome.

Terry,

Thanks for the help via email.

Just to follow up incase someone else comes across this, I found a dealer in Michigan that still had one on the shelf.  He was kind enough to mail it to me.
