RE:tractor design faults

Thank you Malcolm for spinning the photos around. There certainly look better the right way up. Now I have put two line spaces in to start this New paragraph but I bet it will all come out as one paragraph. This is being sent on my Android phone. Of when I use my computer it works alright. Alan

RE:tractor design faults

Hello Alan and all,

Sorry the suggestion didn't work out for you on the photos.  Not being able to sleep early this morning, I ran an experiment with my iPhone 7.  Not being out in the barn, but wishing to keep the photo subjects Massey, I made a trip up to the toy room with my phone.

First photos are the phone in horizontal position, and the photo taken with the phone held horizontally with button to the right.  Second set of photos show the phone in vertical position, and the photo taken with the phone held vertically with button at the bottom.  Then downloaded them here without any manipulation on my computer.

So, at least this works as I expected on the iPhone.  But I can't speak for the Android...

Cheers,

JB

RE:tractor design faults

Hello John Thanks for the info. The first photo is taken with the phone held horizontally with the button on the right and the second with the phone held vertically with the button at the bottom. So we will see. I still can't sort out the paragraphs though. There must be something different between an iPhone and an Android but perhaps best not to go there. Alan

RE:tractor design faults

Interesting. The one I took vertically came out right and yet the photos that I took of the steps with the phone held vertically came out on their side. It's got me confused which is not difficult to do.

RE:tractor design faults

I'm going to place the blame on negatively charged Cosmic Ions.

John,

I really love that wooden Challenger in your collection!! Was it made by a guy in Ohio? I have a wooden MH 44 that looks like it may have been made by the same artist as your Challenger.

RE:tractor design faults

Joe,

I have the "unstyled" and the "Styled" Challenger wooden models that were made by Jim Dawson's Dad in consecutive years.  They are very nice units, and he only made 4 of them each year.  As I remember it, he made one for each son, and put one in the MHFCO auction each year.   As I recall it, I had a lot of "help" making sure they brought good money at the auctions,,,

RE:tractor design faults

John,

Yes, I believe that is the man that made my 44. I may be wrong on this but I believe the 44 I got was the first year he did it, I remember seeing this on the auction table and just saying I got to have this... Like you I had many people helping me get it up to the price of a real running 44 but I wanted it.. After the auction I got to meet the man who made it and I made him sign a paper with his autograph stating he made the tractor and some other details while I took his picture, but as for now I don't know where to begin to look for it but I know it is here somewhere. I remember him tearing up when he saw how much I was willing to pay for this tractor and him saying he never in a million years thought it would go that high...

There is a date on the bottom with his initials and a date of 2004.

RE:tractor design faults

Well, we are a bit off topic of this discussion thread, but might as well continue...  After seeing your post below I had to go back up the the toy room and look at the bottom of mine.  They both have his name and the year they were made.  The unstyled Challenger in 2008 and the Styled in 2009.  I didn't even know he had written this on the bottom of each tractor until now!  LOL!!

RE:tractor design faults

Hello JB I know this is not the right thread to be discussing this on but does anyone else have a problem with being able to write in paragraphs on an Android phone. I spilt the text up into paragraphs but it comes out as one paragraph. Any help please. Alan
