RE:Massey 201, 202 and 203 tractors

HI John, Ive had a few wins over the last 2 days.  I mentioned the 203 tractors fitted with Malcoml Moore cranes.....well, my 203 which i know was a crane, is serial number 98997.  An hour up the road i have located a completed crane number 98995, still with Royal Navy number and paint, although somehat neglected.  I did some research on the Royal Navy in Australia and found a copy of the original auction notice in the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper from September 1947 where the 2 Massey Harris cranes with 2 tonne Malcolm Moore cranes listed.    I wonder if there were only the 2 ever made??  I will try and share some photos.  I hope this has sprked some interest.

John,  I will post a photo of the tag... you will note that it has a US number additionally stamped under the serial number.  I will also attached the original Commonwealth Auction Notice wher you can see the listing of the 2 cranes... maybe I have the only 2 in the world.... Interesting. Regards  Buck

It's been a while since any action on the 200 series tractors so if it works here is a neat clip of early footage "Twin 203s" I believe they have the P-6 Perkins in them. The Case "Twins" would make Sir John Whites Day

Thanks to Stephen Watson, President of The National Vintage Tractor and Engine Club here in England and Burscough Images both from the County of Lancashire in the North West of England.

This period photo they have just found shows a M-H 203 owned by a local man from Burscough who carried out steel fabrication work, what looks to be a standard agricultural tractor they think has been fitted with front wheel mudguards (fenders) and a well constructed cab all made by the owner in Burscough and adapted for industrial work as it is seen here pulling a four wheel trailer and possibly used for delivering items to customers from his fabrication business.

I know it's not the best quality photo but another interesting period shot.

Malcolm.
