RE:RCAF Tractors

Chris - I thought that one was close.  I should have assumed the same tractor with that name on the side.

RE:RCAF Tractors

Just found out our tractor came from that sale.

RE:RCAF Tractors

I owned the blue 20 standard for 5 years. Bought it on Ebay from Auctioneer in Browntown, WI. It came from Arlo Paxton auction.

RE:RCAF Tractors

Went and checked serial # 1106.

RE:RCAF Tractors

Good to uncover more of the recent history of the tractor.  I wish we knew the much older history.

RE:RCAF Tractors

Found this picture surfing the net thought it would look good on this thread..

RE:RCAF Tractors

Well I guess I am looking for a little more info again, I was at a sale today where an I-244 was sold. I was curious if they were used by the rcaf or if they were only used in the U.S.
The serial number was I244G2002.  The tractor was a little rough and I thought it sold quite well. I have pictures but am not sure if I can get them posted, NOT computer savy-haha.

RE:RCAF Tractors

Looks like it was the second tractor built with PTO for the Air Force. It would be a 1955 model.  Missing the back door but otherwise a pretty good looker from the pics.  As far as I know the I-244 never made its way into the Canadian service but you can never say never!!

One thing I think might be missing on the tractor are the brass tags.  Unfortunately, I think the brass tags help make it that much more identifible as a military tractor.  There might be some on it  but I just could not see them.

I know where there is a magnet for it, when you are ready!!

Thanks for the post
