Formatting of our posts

Okay, just mark it down as a minor irritant in the grand scheme of things, but it is really irritating to me that I can no longer create "paragraphs" by any normal means I have tried. It used to be that I could just hit the "enter" key and it would paragraph like working in an MSWord document, or just about any email software. I have even tried hitting the enter button multiple times. In my draft view, it looks just like I am entering it - with the paragraph spacings. But when it shows up as a post, the paragraphs and spacing are gone, and it looks like just one big run-on paragraph. None of my other software applications on this laptop are having this issue. I have noticed that some other forum contributors are having the same problem, while other are not... Bear with me while I run a couple of tests to see what happens...

RE:Formatting of our posts

Test # 1.  Using a differen Laptop.  First thing I notice is there is a toolbar at the top of the post dialog box, offering things like Bold, Italic, numbering, bulleting, font color, and font shading...  That doesn't show up on my other laptop.

This should start a new paragraph.  Getting ready to post to see if it does.

End of test #1

RE:Formatting of our posts

Okay. Here is that info. The Laptop that works find on formatting and has the toolbar is running Internet Explorer 8. This laptop, which does not have the toolbar, and will not start a new paragraph no matter what I do, is running Internet Explorer 11. Could that be the problem?? Anybody have any idea of any settings I might look for to get my formatting toolbar and capability to work with IE11?? Thanks, -JB

RE:Formatting of our posts

Interesting, with this laptop/browser combination, it didn't even retain the formatting that I set up in MSWord and copied over...

RE:Formatting of our posts

I have the same problem with setting out paragraphs. Its a small point and doesn't really matter although some people manage to get their posts in paragraphs. New paragraph after pressing the enter key twice. I have Massey Collectors on my Tool Bar so can go straight to the site. Another paragraph. I am on Windows 7 and use Internet Explorer but my web browser is Google. Alan

RE:Formatting of our posts

I left Internet Explorer browser quite some time ago for that very reason.  There are many quirky things that just don't work right.

New paragraph.  I would highly recomend downloading a copy of Google Chrome.  It is free and seems to run much more effeciently.
