2017 Side trips--Wendell Kelch open house May 6, 2017

Most of you have heard of Wendell, a master restoration "mechanic" he calls himself.
I took a IHC buddy down and we enjoyed the day. Wendell is close to sending home a Minneapolis 40-80 that was in pieces last three years. Huge
Another project has been the Bathtub JD which has been filmed on his runway. I'm going to have to read up on that one, as it sounds like a prototype and has had Fort Knox type money spent on it. Neat though.
Wendell does have MHF tractors and was a MF Mechanic. He has a MH-3 which is one of three in world. Malcolm Robinson owns one and another exists in western Canada.
If I'm wrong about the model, I turned 70 yesterday and will claim memory issues.
Wendell said "Hello Malcolm".

Thank you for the message transmitted across the pond Bob, please return the compliment next time you meet up with Wendell.

I always follow his restoration projects with great interest and pleased he does post a lot of work on Smokstak which enables us overseas guys to keep in touch with his excellent work turned out of his workshop by his team there.

Here are a few photo's the last time I visited his place, we toured the airstrip on both the
M-H No 3 and his sweet running I-H High Wheeler Auto Truck. plus seeing all the other items in his own collection all made for a very memorable visit.

Malcolm.

Malcolm,
I sure will say hello to Wendell for you next time I see him. I need to pay more attention  to Smokstak myself as it is more personal than watching YouTube vids.
Looks like Wendell had the M-H No. 3 spiffed up for that Georgetown show as not much attention has been paid to it lately. Of course paying customers have first shot at shop time and restoration. He has several projects of his own he could rehab.
Right now his new house  is demanding financial rights. I think it will have a porch around entire house, southern stile.
