some Massey Harris brochures

So I found these MH brochures for sale online and bought them from a feller by the name of Stuart Gibbard and believe he lives near Malcolm's neck of the woods. Anyway this guy has many original Ag related brochures including MH/Ferguson/MF. Anyway, the buyers guide is from 1948 and the moldboard/disc plow brochure is dated August 28,1952. What I found interesting about the buyers guide is on the back it say's, "Doerr's Garage and Farm Supply Creighton, NE." Any of our Cornhusker friends remember or heard of this business? Just curious.

Cheers,

RE:some Massey Harris brochures

Hello Dakota,

This modern world we now live in is so much smaller than it used to be, in my early years of collecting M-H, I remember buying literature from Stuart Gibbard when he travelled to shows selling from  a stall way back in the early 1980's, things have progressed since then and I think he enjoys dealing from his armchair in his office now. He is about 35 miles from me here in the South Lincolnshire flat fenlands where all the vegetables and flower bulbs are grown.

Whilst you have been dealing in my local area I have been dealing your side of the Atlantic in both the USA and Canada during my two week visit, just returned back to England in this very global world of "Massey Collecting"

Enjoy your latest literature finds from Lincolnshire and continue to slowly build your "Massey Archives" you will enjoy both the hunt and the finds over the coming years, what I find most interesting non of us know what is going to pop up around the next corner.

Keep up the good work,

Malcolm

Hi Malcolm,

I had wondered if you knew Mr. Gibbard. Seems like to me that MH sales literature is a little harder to find here in the US, maybe I'm not looking in the right places, haha. I'm planning on going to the Half Century of Progress next month and there is usually an abundance of vendors who sell things like that, so I will be keeping my eyes peeled for more MH related literature and other things to add to my collection. Hope you enjoyed your trip.

Cheers,

Been to Creighton, NE many times and drive by the old Doerr building. Pretty common name in that area. they sold several Massey Harris tractors out of there over the years according to some of the locals

Very interesting. I take it the building is still standing? Would've loved to seen that place in its heyday.
