RE:Massey-Harris Wrenches

Yes Joe that is the handle. There were two sets of numbers:  C280 & C281 and C190 & C191. They appear to be the same wrench.

RE:Massey-Harris Wrenches

I'm looking for photos of Verity and Johnson Harvester Co wrenches. If anyone has some in their collections and wouldn't mind me using their photos for the wrench list it would be very helpful.

Thanks

Alan

RE:Massey-Harris Wrenches

Alan,

Here are the JH Co and Verity wrenches that I have. Nothing too rare but you are welcome to use them if you want to. The Verity wrench has P 61 on the back side.
I had posted a couple of pictures of the adjustable wrenches earlier.

Thank you very much for the photos. Together we will get this job done.

I'm on the Wallis list at the moment. I've done M-H and J.I.Case although I would like to put more photos on the M-H list my computer won't take them. I think the file is too large.

I've been sitting in front of the computer most days since the New Year so things are moving on.

Verity and J H Co next.

Thanks again

Alan

Thanks very much.

They will go onto the list this afternoon.

Have you any Wiard wrenches

Alan

RE:Massey-Harris Wrenches

Does anyone have any information as to what wrenches were supplied with Johnston Harvester machines. I assume the wrenches with the same part number as the M-H ones were supplied with the same machines. For example a A 23 with MJH on it would have been used on knotters the same as a M-H A 23.

Any help please

Alan

RE:Massey-Harris Wrenches

Alan, I don't know if it is too late for your book but here is a M555 wrench with Canada on the back that I just obtained from the electronic yard sale on the internet.

Thanks for the photos. It's never too late things can always be added. I think there were five different versions of wrench #555.

I've just had a set back with my list. About a couple of weeks ago my computer crashed. I thought everything was being backed up on the hard drive but it wasn't. So I have lost the write ups and photos that I had done on M-H other companies, ie, Wallis, Verity, Johnston Harvester etc. Luckily I had put the M-H list onto a disc.

Malcolm Robinson was going to come and have a look to see what I had done and where to go next but unfortunately there was nothing for him to see.

Oh well start again !!!

RE:Massey-Harris Wrenches

As we are visiting at the MCA Spring Meeting in Hermitage PA, Larry Tarman brought his piece of mystery cast iron that had yet to be identified by our worldly collectors.  However, the outstandingly scholarly research gurus quickly determined what it was and for what purpose it was used.  Of course this research was done almost immediately after the Mr Tarman purchased the item at the Tom Patterson Auction in 2012!!

So I am using this opportunity to share the power of the MCA Web site with our members tomorrow during a seminar.

Thanks to Joe and Drew for helping me remember where we had placed the information!!

The rest of the world (at least the new owner) will know what it is!!

Thanks

Gary
