MF 1150 update

Got some work done on the MF 1150 over the past few weeks.  I got that junky old Full Vision cab removed, and then did some work putting it back to an open station tractor.  As per the other discussion thread currently discussing on what to do with The Clipper, Rick Keating asked me to do a story submission on this conversion process, and I plan to do that.  So, I will save the details for that article, but will share some before and after conversion photos here for now.

Still a long ways to go for restoration.  Some day...

RE:MF 1150 update

John,

Why "restore" it? Looks to be in good original condition for the most part???  Treat it to a new seat and fix any small items of wear then oil it down??????

It is originals over here that draw the crowds and make the money.

John

RE:MF 1150 update

John,

It is currently oiled down, and that will have to do for awhile (along with the new seat and cleaned-up/painted platform).  The big problem is what you can't see, which is the top of the hood.  It is in quite sad shape with a lot of surface rusting that I'm afraid even the oiling won't stop from getting worse in my storage barn, which is not climate controlled.  That is what will drive me to restore this one rather than leave it original.

I also need one rear wheel replaced.  If there is anybody out there with a good 16-38 8-rail rim you would sell, please contact me!!

Thanks,

JB
