2017 Side trips Ederville NC monster collection of asst. brands.

Should you venture to Massey Expo of North America, and I hope you do, give some thought to going another 3.5 hrs. east to see Ken and Pat Eder's collection. I have highlighted the MHFW units there, but there are hundreds of units of many brands, domestic and forgeign. Steel, rubber, steam, prairie, hit & miss engines, Oil Pull, toys,
industrial dozers, cars, village, antiques and trucks. They have their own show, usually in early Nov.
I will double check the dates and add to this post.

RE:2017 Side trips Ederville NC monster collection of asst. brands.

Thank you Bob for posting some of your photo's from your visit with Ken and Patty at Ederville.

I must say I was astounded with what I saw there when I spent a day with them just a few years ago now, almost another version of what Larry Weber did at Dome Valley Arizona, but covering many more makes of tractors from very old to classic as you show in your photo's, plus many attractions for the entire family covering heritage on a large scale.

Not to dig up history here but I have to say when I heard the Massey Expo was going to be in NC I just thought what a great idea to co ordinate the two events for every ones benefit. Seeing a different part of the US for a Massey Expo and pulling in two great events on consecutive weekends all well worth the costs of getting there, from all parts of the world.

The rest you all know and I feel it's our loss as I am sure Ken and Patty put on a very fine grand show the first weekend in November at Ederville.

Hope you personally make it out there Bob.

Malcolm.

Here are a few photo's which may be of interest to the purist Massey Collectors who wish to visit the Ederville Show after the Massey Expo.

There is even a British built Blackstone of Stamford, Lincolnshire, (Associated with M-H) grain grinding mill in this collection in North Carolina, these mills are quite unique in the fact the grinding is done by two large and very heavy rotating stones, a smaller version of the old wind powered windmills here in England.

The last three photos show three rare pieces I had not seen before on all my travels, not being Massey related it was worthwhile to see them.

1. Holt three wheeled tractor
2. Best steam engine
3. Robinson steam engine. (a few years later saw the one at The Rushville Expo)

I like the photo of the two Robinsons together Alan

RE:2017 Side trips Ederville NC monster collection of asst. brands.

I am very sorry to report this very sad news as we head into the Christmas Festivities.

Ken Eder the owner and inspiration behind the "Ederville Collection and Annual Show" held every November in Carthage North Carolina was tragically killed in a work related accident on Saturday.

Some of the MCA members will recall Ken actively enjoying the "Dome Valley Museum Auction" back in 2007.

This man was truly "inspirational and hands on" a true collector of old iron, creating one of the largest personal displays in the whole of North America and Canada.

A great loss to the collecting world and all who knew him.

Sincere Condolences to his wife Patti.

RIP Ken.
