After leaving the Paisley Show on our way back to the Milton area for a few more days we passed a local show in Mennonite country, we stopped and had a quick look around, their feature was I-H with plenty of red tractors, the Massey area was very very small, there was a nice Sawyer Massey steam engine.
Further along the road before leaving the Mennonite community I just had to stop and take a photograph of the stooks of grain in the fields, we had seen a lot of this done and the horses and wagons leading the sheaves back to the farnyards, a sight which brought back memories for me as a boy in the 1970's of riding our Massey Harris binder once a year and cutting wheat for one of our local threshing shows. It was a sight to see a complete field of stooks and no trails of straw left from a combine harvester, we are so used to seeing today.
