I think I recorded most of the prices for everything but the parts tractors and the uncataloged items if anyone needs them.
I have to think the Fanks were pleased with the results. I know all the tent items (memorabilia) sold every well.
I probably got the deal of the day by buying up some cast iron items!! (Thank you John F for making me look more closely at cast iron!! - They don't make it anymore!!!) For $2.50 I purchased two small pieces. At least one was a small spade cleat from some implement. To my surprise, the part number was clearly marked "GE 59" Of course, that would be my initials but I did not even realize it until the ringman handed me my new purchase!!! Does anyone have any idea what it might have come from? It measures about 3.5" by 2" There was also another piece much smaller with not part number marked on it. Both were clearly marked MH!! I will post a pic when I get a chance!!
I also purchased the 8 piece MF spark plug set NIB. When I bought it JB looked at me, I looked at him and we both said "Why?" I then said "When was the last time you saw a set of MF spark plugs?" That seemed to satisfy both of us!?!?!? LOL!!
I won't comment on the crawler other than to say the folk lore will continue to be told in Minnesota since it will stay there!! Seemed most of those who traveled from afar did not buy into the tale, but at least two did with it selling for $30,500.00!?!?!?
I went to the auction primarily to buy a potato digger and to see all my Massey friends. The friends were there in ample supply but the diggers were not Massey so they found a new home somewhere other than Danville, IN!!
JB and I were surprised to hear the gray GP was traveling back to Indiana. I had the opportunity to meet the gentleman who purchased it. Seems he lives in Fort Wayne and collects GPs!! That surpised us both since neither had met him before!!
It was a great sale, great day and another great time with the Massey family!!
If anyone wants some prices just let me know!
Gary
