S-P Clipper w/ unusual pick-up

I bought a self-propelled Clipper a few years back. It's in pretty nice shape, having sat in the shed since the middle '60s, though it is missing all the front components; reel, sickle, guards, etc. I'm hoping to get working on it this summer, and decided to go back and talk to the former owner and ask him if he ran across any missing parts. He said he found the pick-up for it (that explains why no reel, etc. ) Great! When I first saw it I couldn't believe what I was staring at. Not your typical windrow pick-up. It resembles a beater from a chopper box, an auger with teeth. The seller was too young to remember his dad using it so couldn't tell me anything about it.

My question is: Does anyone have one of these, used one, know anything about it, have pictures, literature, manual, etc.? There's no part # or M-H logo stamped on it, so it could be an aftermarket. Though there appears to be pieces missing, I 'm going to try and get this morphadyte to work. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Terry,

I have never seen one but it will be fun to see what you come up with.  Those SP Clippers will run circles around any old combine out there.

Please keep us posted!!
