RE:local tractor drive

Thanks for your reply John,

Jim was here in Lincolnshire two weeks ago and he assures me the Museum will be completed and ready for opening in June 2020 at his Massey Show.

Now here is another "tractor driver" who I am sure several of you will recognise, he has been here in Lincolnshire for four days this week and he is still driving on the "wrong side of the road".

Malcolm.

RE:local tractor drive

Malcolm, Very cool. I have been to Texas but have never been on some of the "back roads", very cool scenery to take a drive through. John, Thought that tractor looked familiar, haha. I just might have to make a trip to Oklahoma then if he gets it done. Sounds like it would be very neat to go see.

Here are a few photo's taken during one of our very scenic "road runs" earlier this year which passed through the grounds of Burghley House near Stamford Lincolnshire, we also travelled the length of the main runway at RAF Wittering which I believe dates back to 1916 as an airfield, also famous for the iconic Vulcan Bomber flying from here, those runways are long when your on a tractor.

RE:local tractor drive

Very cool, and I dont know of a better way to enjoy the English country side than on a tractor. I've always wanted to see England and speaking of airfields, I've also wanted to do like a tour of the Battle Of Britain airfields and other areas that were involved. I know its probably all different now, but I think it would still be neat. I also wouldve love to been at the airshow (I think it was Flying Legends at Duxford) where there was 16 Spitfires all flying in formation, including some that actually fought in the battle. Anyway back to tractors, I'm not sure if you heard of it, but in northern Michigan, there is a large tractor drive called the Mackinac Brigde Antique tractor drive and show. I read somewhere that I believe they said at least a 1,000 tractors participated in the event one year. Its another one of those on my "bucket list". Would be neat if a group of us in the MCA got together and went up there.

RE:local tractor drive

Dakota Thanks for the photos of your show. You were talking about W W 2 airfields! There were a lot of American Airfields here in Norfolk where I live and also in Suffolk. There are very few in tact now but there are still a lot of traces of them to be seen even now. Some of the control towers have been made into museums. I am sure Malcolm will know of some in Lincolnshire as well. Alan

RE:local tractor drive

Hi Alan, Your welcome. I always enjoy taking pictures of things I like and sharing them with everyone. Yes and if you didnt already know that is my other interest is WWII. The airfields you are referring to are the ones that the US 8th Air Force used for conducting raids on Germany from 1943-1945. I take it you have been to some of those airfields?
