Joe - In your post regarding the Vinage Tractors 2013 calendar you were asking where the photo of the three Wallis/MH tactors were located. I was given this calendar by my kids at Christmas and right away recognised the site as Pioneer Acres in Irricana Alberta. Irricana is about 40 miles east and north of Calgary. We have been out to their reunion several times and they put on a good show. I see they are updating their web site and in the gallery section there is a Massey Harris section but no photos yet. Something to watch. I believe that most of the displayed items at Pioneer Acres are privately owned. Several collectors have their own buildings to house their tractors and trucks etc. The attached photo of the green Wallis in the parade of power was taken a few years ago. Enjoy, Doug

I see you are still having problems posting pictues I believe it is beause the picture you started with was too big. The max size it will allow is 5,120 KB You must have taken the pictures with a high resolution camera. If you shrink them down first before trying to upload them they should work.

On my computer I can just right click on a picture and click on Open with Microsoft Office. On there at the top there is a button that says edit pictures just click on it and on the right of the page you can shrink it to like 650  then save it.

Once you get this done you can go back to your post in this thread and click on the "Attachments" icon and then upload your picture it should end up where the red X is right now.

That was alovely little film - the more so because of the old guy in charge!

I thought the starting handle was a bit longer than the original?????  Very sensible I would think if it was as the old guy certainly cranked it with ease.  And what a wonderful starter it was!!!

Here's what I think is a nice little shot for Tom and Joe.  A Wallis 20-30 at the  Royal Winter Fair in November 1928 - the year that M-H bought the Wallis tractors into their operations.  The fair was held in the Coliseum at the Cnadian National Exhibition Grounds in Toronto.

The photo is in the Massey-Harris News Vol 8 No 4 December 1st 1928.

Anyone ever come across one of those nice Massey-Harris signs hanging above the tractor?

Very Cool sign John, Don't think we will ever see an original but one never knows. It is interesting to see the tractor was panted Cream and Black, Was this just to catch the eyes of the croud?? The tractor you posted with the bar on the front appears to be of lighter color could it aslo be Cream colored??

I aslo noticed it said the tractor was featured in the Royal Films so now we know there should be some more original film footage out there somewhere.

I do hope MCA members are at least Lurking at all this stuff we have been talking about in the different threads because if they are not they are really missing out on alot of very important details of the History of their hobby.

I just love it when you and Malcolm and others keep digging up stuff like this from your collections...It is very inspiring and helps keep the hobby alive.

I am sure everytime you dig in another box or pull something from your file cabenet it is just like opening a present you find things you didn't realize you had in there.

I am sure Malcolm is just chomping at the bit wanting to reply to some of these posts as for some reason he can't get signed in on here... Don't know what the problem is but we are trying to figure it out, so just hang in there Malcolm.

Here is a piece of Canadian Massey advertising when they started selling the wallis 15-27.

That's a nice piece of literature that I haven't seen before Graham.  I have a 15-27 in my collection but it is the only one I have so far never had running.  It's a very straight tractor from Nebraska that I bought unseen in a Nixon auction some years ago and I am pleased to say all went very smoothly.  I bought it beacuse to me it is the first MH tractor from the Wallis line - I am not into Wallis tractors.  But as Iam sure you know it was sold just for 1927 in Canada with "sold by Massey Harris" on the fenders low down, then of course they subsequently bought Wallis.  Mine has no fenders but I understand that theye were optional.

I did start putting things right on it - the worst feature was the cylinder head.  My tame engineer nearly threw me out of his workshop when I took it down!  He had to drill out 3-4 valves and cut new seats to insert in the head.  It's more or less ready to have a start up but somehow it went on the back burner and is on the "jobs to do list"  maybe this year.

Our latest Wallis is a 15-27, it came from SK and had sat in the open for well over 50 years and you can still read sold by Massey Harris on the fenders, things just don`t seem to rust out there unlike the UK there would be no fenders left after all that time. (Just one of the things that makes it worth putting up with five months of snow and below freezing tempreratures)

Here is a simple question. Please enlighten me and probably others. I noticed in Graham's advertisement he posted that the Wallis was a "certified" tractor.  So just what does that mean "Certified" and why did they use it?  Was there a certificate that came with it?   I read in the advertisement that it was certified by the engineers but I would hope the engineers were competent enough that it could stand without "certified"  Could I get an uncertified Wallis???  I know it is simple but I just have never asked the question!!
