RE:Massey signs

Hello,
A T Boney and Co. was located in the village of Cairo, Randolph County in Missouri. 2010 census states a population of 292.   I have a sign just like yours Malcolm, and the seller told me the location was in Missouri.  I just finished a Google search and can confirm this.  A T 's first name is Arthur.  He married a woman, and she passed away, and then married her sister, who helped raise his 2 children, a boy and a girl.  I wonder what the Internet has to say about me, kinda scary...   Hope this helps.     Tim

RE:Massey signs

Well, there you go!  Interesting that my Google search for Cairo didn't turn up one in Missouri.  And such a big city, too!!  Also, when I Google searched for A. T. Boney it didn't come up with anything but that car dealer in South Carolina...  But, the internet is always correct, right?!?  :-)

Thanks, Tim.

JB

RE:Massey signs

Thanks to you both for concluding my long mystery of Cairo, just shows the internet and google are not to be fully relied upon yet !!! Like humans they have different ideas too, which sometimes takes us along a road in the wrong direction.

RE:Massey signs

Here is another very similar style cardboard sign to the one I posted yesterday for the J I Case Plow Works Cultivators.

It is from the Johnston Harvester Company of Batavia and they are identical size and colour.

Earlier in this sign thread John posted the M-F Triple Triangle sign on plywood with a timber frame, here is the metal version of the same era sign.

RE:Massey signs

Recently visiting a very nice museum near Bristol after the AGCO show, there was two very nice M-F signs diplayed there, another variation which I had not seen before.

RE:Massey signs

Well done again Joe in getting the buttons back!

This round MH sign is a tin one found in the south of England for me by a friend.

RE:Massey signs

I am now going to drift in to a deviation away from hard signs to more recent MF hangers.  These are a sort of half way house between hard wood or metal signs, often for outdoor use, and paper posters.  They have come in in recent years for hanging in dealer's showrooms and are made of a sort of robust vinyl.  They make nice decoration for any tractor shed or museum setting.

Here is the first I have showing the Hesston/MF/AGCO range of haymaking equipment.
