I have noticed over the last few years the interest in genuine original signs continues to grow rapidly, often resulting in some very high auction prices, they seem to appeal to a much wider audiuence of collectors than the specialist make collector, we see antique signs regularly now for decoration of such places like restaurants etc, so guess that's one reason why we have not seen the sign market fluctuate as much as the cast iron seat prices which seems very low at the moment, some very low prices on seats at the recent Cheffins Spring auction.
As with anything and really noticing it with signs, the high prices only encourage more and more repro's. This weekend at a show in Norfolk there was a vast array of recent repro signs (including the rare M-H engine sign) for sale in the gas engine display.
It will be interesting to see how the signs sell on this Saturday's M-H auction in MN.
