RE:Downunder Masseys

I agree, nice find, Buck!  The K manifold sheild looks to be in really good shape.  That is really rare to find around here.

I am really curious about those rear wheels and tires.  What size are they?  They don't appear to be 38" in the photo.  But maybe it's an optical illusion...

Cheers,

JB

RE:Downunder Masseys

Hi JB, you are correct. The rear tyres are 14.9 x 28" and the front 5.50 x 16.
i also have a 102 Junior with the same 28" rear tyres.
i do really like the 38" spoked wheels that You have over there, but have only seen a few.
These are the standard heavy cast rims made by Dunlop in Australia.

Gary, I don't believe the 33's came over, only 20,30,44 and 55 variants. Regards Buck.

RE:Downunder Masseys

Does anyone know where to get the front anniversary sticker for top of the grill?

RE:Downunder Masseys

Preservation complete. New tyres, good clean up, new manifold gasket. Saved from the tractor pull engine transplant and preserved for a long time. First show outing today.

RE:Downunder Masseys

Sharp lookin machine you have Buck, like the fact that it was left the way you found it. She looks to be in good shape. I find the air breather interesting. Any particular reason its mounted like that? Were all Aussie Massey's that way? Cheers, Dakota

RE:Downunder Masseys

Hi Dakota, The Vokes air cleaners were a common addition in Australia from new.  Quite possibly to combat the dry dusty conditions. This is one of the first of the type with the brass plaque attached. The later air cleaners did not have a brass plaque. Regards Buck.
