RE:Wallis and Massey Harris parts book list

Here is another one it brags about the new features of the New 1926 Wallis OK tractor, again I don't know if it was a big advertising scam or what as all these features were out many years before 1926.

RE:Wallis and Massey Harris parts book list

Joe, On the Sawyer Massey Advertisement it states that they had been selling Wallis Tractors for 8 years.  This kind of  makes sense.  There may have been an Agreement for both Companies to sell the other's products.  8 Years earlier would have been about the time Wallis began selling Sawyer Massey/Wallis Threshing Machines.  One of those deals where as, you sell my stuff, and I will sell yours.   Just my thoughts...
I was also looking at my Wallis Parts Book #23.  Like you Joe, I dislike writing on my books,  but my Book has written  Serial Number 14231 and 1918.  Also written is distinguishing characteristics of the different Models. The Cub JR, K, and OK.  This sort of helps date the K 3.       Tim

Joe,

Here's one I dug up earlier, 20-30  number 60034, engine number 59563.
Cam Shaft  5214A  is for the 15-27 with no oil pump gear, book #25 is for the 15-27 and supplement 25C is for all the changes on the 20-30s.
below is the Cam Shaft listed in supplement  25C.

RE:Wallis and Massey Harris parts book list

Graham,

Your picture clearly  shows that the oil pump gear can be removed from the cam shaft. Do you think the tractors made with serial number 57208 and earlier had the oil pump gear  made into the cam shaft and was not removable?

Here two other ads I found, they help out when looking at these ads to find out what to look for next and what is out there to even look for. Here are two adds telling about the book to send for on the Wallis Proposition.

The one thing I didn't understand about this second ad was it is posted in February of 1920 and it talks about the 15 year record of Successful performance, that puts us back to 1905.

RE:Wallis and Massey Harris parts book list

Here is another ad that tells of books to order and what else is out there. I have one of the books on the cub but the other three in the hand in the ad I do not have so it will give me something to look for in the future. Anyone else out there come across any of these other three brochures in the picture?

RE:Wallis and Massey Harris parts book list

Joe,

This is the oil pump gear on the camshaft of 56633 looks to be a removable one.
I think I need a new gear as some of the teeth are a bit broken.

Joe,

So far I have come across three variations of the Cub brochure you have pictured, here are the two North American versions, the only difference I have found so far is the rear cover.
I will photograph the third one tonight and post later.

Interesting looking seat on that tractor, I believe when the artist drew this picture it was copied from pictures taken out back at there test plot for the Wallis Cub. I have several pictures showing what looks like they took the chair out of the office and strapped it to the Cub for comfort.

RE:Wallis and Massey Harris parts book list

Malcolm,

Here is another book similar to yours but has the Cub jr on the cover. It is 15 pages long and is in very poor shape. It shows a couple pictures in it with the Cub Jr doing work also horses doing work. I don't know if it has the same info inside as yours and it is just the Cub jr version or not? either way in it's day I bet the colors really grabbed the prospective buyers eye..
